Acquiring a new language, it is important to understand how students acquire a new language in order to appreciate the significance that technology can have in ensuring success for English language learners. The using multimedia technology to incorporate pictures or video into the lesson, the teachers can provide students with the necessary contextual cues to understand new concepts.

Captivating Opening Sentence
There's a reason this is the number one writing strategy on this list. Don't assume readers are automatically interested in your subject. Write something catchy that will makethem interested.
A Tone of Sincerity
Just because you’re not sitting right beside your reader doesn't mean that the basic rules of human interaction don’t apply.
Speak to Your Audience
Who is reading your article? What is their life like? Do they have a family? Are they starting a career? Knowing why someone is coming to your article is a major step in knowing what to say to them and, most importantly, how to appeal to them on an emotional level.

Imagine you've just turned on your TV. You see a man in a suit standing in front of a large map with the symbols of a sun, clouds and thunder.
Listening for gist
Imagine you are a superhero flying in the sky. From that height, it is possible to see what the entire area is like, how densely populated it is, the kind of houses in each area.
Listening for details
Imagine you are a detective taking a closer look at those buildings you saw earlier on as a superhero. This time, rather than taking in the big picture, you're looking for something specific and rejecting anything that does not match what's on your list.
Speaking strategies
Role Plays
This gets students out of themselves and their inhibitions. It is also massively fun.
To generate maximum confidence and facilitate speaking, it needs preparation first. A spontaneous role play can be beyond terrifying to many.
Detailed Task Briefs
Group work within class works best if carefully structured. I like to set my students up with small team projects. For instance, “design a marketing strategy for an unpopular place in your country.” This task centers on the students’ creativity in thinking up their own ideas.
